Sweden - Route 7 - Northeast Sweden Höga Kusten
In the north-east of Sweden, we discover vast landscapes and impressive natural phenomena that are fascinating in both winter and summer. There, the majestic mountain ranges and the vast territories of the Sami await us.
In the north-east of Sweden we experience "wide" country and numerous nature spectacles. This not only in winter, but also in summer. The mountain landscapes and vast areas of the Sámi people await us.
This is what awaits you on this route:
The route starts at the Sundsvall-Höga Kusten campsite. The next day we drive towards Östersund and visit the moose garden in Orrviken outside Östersund. We will spend the night at First Camp Frösön-Östersund.
From here we continue towards Storuman, Arvidsjaur and Luleå, spending the night at First Camp Arcus-Luleå. On site we discover and explore the beautiful archipelago and the river Luleå.
The next day we drive to Överkalix, Övertorneå. On the way to Haparanda we stop at Kukkolaforsen. From here we continue towards Haparanda (border to Finland), then towards Kalix and back to Luleå, where we visit the church town of Gammelstad. (very worth seeing) Overnight at First Camp Arcus-Luleå with its water park Arcusbadet. The next day we drive in the direction of Piteå. There we visit the Pite Havsbad called Nordic Riviera and continue towards Skellefteå and Umeå. Overnight stay at First Camp Nydala-Umeå.
The next day we drive towards Örnsköldsvik and follow the High Coast Road at Ullånger. Further we follow the tourist road and explore “Höga Kusten”. A beautiful impressive view of the high coast bridge opens up to us and we continue towards Härnösand, Timrå, Sundsvall. Here the route ends at First camp Sundsvall-Höga Kusten.
