Sweden - Route 5 - East Sweden Stockholm

The route starts at the Stensö-Kalmar campsite. In the town we visit Kalmar Castle and drive over the Öland Bridge to Öland. Here we discover the south of Öland.

Continue towards Oskarshamn with an overnight stay on the beautiful island at First Camp Gunnarsö-Oskarshamn. We continue on the inland road towards Vimmerby, Astrid Lindgren’s World and Glasriket (Glass Kingdom). From here we follow the main coast road north to Nickstabadet-Nynäshamn campsite.

The next day we head towards Stockholm where we check in at either Bredängs Camping or First Camp City-Stockholm. Our sightseeing program starts with a public transport to Stockholm city center. Among other things, we visit the castle and the Vasa Museum. In the old town you will find many restaurants, bars and pubs to enjoy the nightlife in Stockholm. When we are done with our Stockholm visit, we continue the route towards Norrköping and take the coastal road to Västervik. Here we visit Västervik and the Tjust archipelago.

We continue towards the island of Oknö, where we spend the night at First Camp Oknö-Mönsterås. It is highly recommended to explore the wonderful nature by bike or boat. Boats and bicycles are also available for rent. The next day we will drive towards Kalmar and across the Öland Bridge to visit Borgholm Castle and Soliden Castle (the summer residence of the royal families) and other sights of Central and Northern Öland. Overnight stay will be at First Camp Stensö-Kalmar, where the route also ends.
