Sweden - Route 1 - Denmark and South Sweden Malmö
Discover the coastal landscape of Denmark and south-east Sweden. Impressive nature reserves, coastal landscapes, historic towns and "pure nature" await you.
This is what awaits you on this route:
The route starts from Lakolk Strand-Römö campsite in Denmark. On the way to the Öresund Bridge, towards Sweden, we pass Copenhagen, where we absolutely have to make a stop to visit e.g. Nyhavn Castle, many sights as well as restaurants and stores. We then continue in the direction of the Öresund Bridge to Malmö.
The next stop is planned at First Camp Sibbarp-Malmö. Here in Malmö with a magnificent view over the sea, we visit the “Turning Torso”, the tallest building in the Nordic countries. From Malmö we follow the road towards Trelleborg and stay on the coastal road until we reach Smygehuk – here we are in the southernmost part of Sweden. We continue in the direction of Ystad. After the town of Ystad we follow the coastal road to the small, picturesque village, Kåseberga and Ale’s Stones, Sweden’s largest and best preserved stone ship.
We continue along the coastal road towards Simrishamn with its historic fishing harbor. From here we continue towards Åhus and be sure to visit the “Absolut Experience & Distillery Tour”. Overnight stay at First Camp Åhus-Kristianstad. The next day we take the coastal road towards Mörrum. Salmon fishing in the river Mörrum is world famous and a must! We continue towards Karlshamn where we visit “Eriksberg”, one of the largest game reserves in Northern Europe. At the end of the day we follow the road to Karlskrona and spend the night at First Camp Skönstavik. Here you must visit the Naval Museum and explore the unique archipelago with all its islands.
The next day we drive towards Röstånga and Söderåsen National Park. Overnight stay at First Camp Röstånga-Söderåsen. The next day we leave for Helsingborg, make a round trip in Kullaberg, with breathtaking beaches and dunes and wide views over Öresund, Kattegatt, Kullaberg’s lighthouse and the small village of Mölle. Overnight stay at First Camp Råå Vallar-Helsingborg. From here we take the ferry from Helsingborg to Elsinore and when we arrive in Elsinore we take the coastal road “Strandvejen” towards Copenhagen.
So we pass the famous Lousiana Museum and in Copenhagen the famous statue “Den Lille Havfruen” and the Carlsberg Brewery. We will spend the night again at First Camp Lakolk Strand-Römö on our way back to our home destination.
