The trail can be walked in several stages and is a special experience in the fall during chestnut season.

The Plose High Trail

As one of the most famous hiking trails in the region, this path offers impressive panoramic views of the Dolomites. The route runs along Brixen’s local mountain, the Plose. Merano High Mountain Trail

The Merano High Mountain Trail is one of the most spectacular routes in the South Tyrolean Alps and circles the Texel Group. The trail is around 100 kilometers long in total and can be divided into several stages. Venosta Valley High Trail

The Vinschger Höhenweg trail runs for around 108 kilometers from Staben below Naturns to St. Martin im Kofel and impresses with its diversity. It runs over several thousand meters in altitude and offers hikers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the valley. The high trail is divided into several daily stages, but can also be hiked in shorter sections.

This path is named after Empress Elisabeth of Austria and leads from the center of Merano to the botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle. It offers beautiful views and insights into history.

Merano-Mals cycle route

Partly coinciding with the Adige Valley cycle path, the route from Merano to Malles/Mals is also popular because it mainly runs along the old Vinschgau railroad and offers cyclists spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Thanks to the rail connection, it is also possible to travel part of the route by train, which makes planning more flexible.
