The symphonyOrchestra Tempelhof (SOT) is an ensemble of music lovers that has been in existence for 69 years and whose common goal is to make the sound of a large orchestra accessible to everyone. We work on rarely performed works from the classical and romantic periods, but do not shy away from performing well-known pieces and contemporary composers.

The SOT consists of around 75 members of all ages and professions from many nations. We rehearse two to three concert programs a year, often accompanying soloists from professional orchestras in Berlin, other professional instrumental soloists, singers and various amateur choirs in the city. Musical cooperation is promoted through joint concert tours, during which we usually give concerts in Bad Sooden-Allendorf, a twin town of Tempelhof-Schöneberg, every three years.
