Fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast” // Bad Rodach
June 27 @ 15:00 - 17:00
Children’s play in two acts after Madame Leprince de Beaumont
Child-friendly new adaptation and staging by Diana Hübner
The impoverished merchant Pierre lives with his daughter Belle in a small village. Belle is beautiful, smart, reserved and frugal. She lovingly takes care of her father and the small house they have left. She weaves fabrics that sell more fairly than not. When Pierre goes on a trading trip one day, he asks Belle what he can bring her as a gift. She wishes for nothing more than a small rose. Belle’s father, however, gets caught in a devastating storm on his way home and he ends up in a seemingly uninhabited castle. But there are strange things going on in this castle. There is a fire, food and drink, but except for a few strange animals, no one else seems to be around. Pierre also does not meet the master of the house. Only when he sets off again and breaks off the longed-for rose for Belle in the magnificent garden does the angry owner of the castle show himself to him in terrible form. Is there an escape for Pierre or can Belle possibly help him to rescue?
