Wolfhagen

Idyll and harmony in the medieval half-timbered town - market square with fairy-tale fountain
Historic Wolfhagen joins the ranks of towns that are home to fairy tales, sagas and legends with its town fairy tale "The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats". The landscape around Wolfhagen offers ideal opportunities for walkers, passionate hikers and cyclists alike. A highlight; the Habichtswaldsteig quality hiking trail. The Weidelsburg, built in the 14th century, is today northern Hesse's largest castle ruin. From the east tower there is a magnificent view over the landscape of the Habichtswald Nature Park with its characteristic basalt peaks. Numerous long-distance hiking trails - Bonifatiusweg, Studentenpfad, Hugenotten- und Waldenserpfad, Habichtswaldsteig, pass through the region.
