Itter Castle

Itter Castle is a magnificent 19th century building in Itter in the Brixental Valley in North Tyrol.
It also gained historical fame through the Battle of Itter Castle on May 5, 1945, in which soldiers of the U.S. Army and the Wehrmacht - who had joined the Austrian resistance - fought against members of the Waffen-SS.
