Castle hill of Tettelham

The Schlossberg of Tettelham is a 597 m high hill above the village of Tettelham near Otting in the municipality of Waging in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein
Obertettelham Castle was the seat of the Lords of Tettelham, who were ministerials (servants) of the Counts of Kraiburg and later of the Counts of Plain. In 1343 it was acquired by Salzburg Archbishop Ortolf von Weißeneck and later became the seat of a court of the Archbishopric of Salzburg. After a fire, the castle was rebuilt around 1505 under Archbishop Leonhard von Keutschach. In 1697, the parish court was moved to Waging and the castle was left to decay.
