Thursday 8 June 2023

The start of the Rock im Urbachtal is made by an “old” acquaintance. Edwin Kimmler, several times guest in the sawmill Neukirchen and then Phillip Bölter with his band also well known from performances at Lagefeuerkonzerte in Loshausen.

Edwin Kimmler

Edwin Kimmler celebrates his 45th stage anniversary in 2023! A native of Landshut, he began making music intensively at the age of ten. Without a teacher and without sheet music, he gradually worked out his musical basics and completed his first concerts in 1978. Since that time he has stood on the podiums of cabaret stages or festivals more than 2000 times and is known for exhausting himself to the point of exhaustion at every concert.

Edwin’s music can best be described as a mixture of blues, soul, boogie-woogie and swing, which he performs with virtuosity on piano, guitar and harmonica.

Edwin makes sure on stage that his fans and also himself are doing well. True to the statement of one of their own songs, “Feeling good.”

Bölter band

Bölter blows the dust off the strings and whistles at old clichés. The only thing that’s trite is the resonator guitar – it’s made of tin and still speaks dialect. With their German-language debut album “Therapie” (04.22 Green Mother Records), the three guys from southern Germany bridge the gap from the roots of the blues to German-language songwriting. This results in appealing music with intelligent lyrics. Bölter surprised with over 100 concerts as one of the most sought-after German-language newcomer bands 2022.

Friday 9 June 2023

Friday is themed “Hard Rock” but starts delicately with Maus acoustic, paving the way for one of the best Kiss tribute bands. We are looking forward to Kissin Time with their brilliant stage show and all the classics in their luggage.

MAUS acoustic

MAUS… that’s Alex Maus (Thundershot), Michael Maus (Thundershot) and Tobi Maus (Abräumbänd, Born Wild). Together they inspire the audience with the finest acoustic rock, including classics by Neil Young or Tom Petty, as well as current hits by Volbeat, Alter Bridge or Slash. Also German interpreters like Achim Reichel, Peter Maffay or Wirtz find their place in the program of MAUS. Whether city festivals, pub gigs or family celebrations, MAUS inspire with full guitar sound and outstanding vocals, paired with a lot of humor, because they do not take themselves (and everyone else ;-)) quite so seriously and just have fun on stage.

Kissin Time

Kissin Time takes you on a musical journey through the history of the ‘hottest band in the world’ – KISS! Since 1993 they have been rocking the stages of Europe.
Their setlist consists of everything that will make the KISS fan’s heart beat faster as well as songs that will thrill those interested. In the smallest detail work recreated instruments & costumes, the four world-famous made-up faces of the originals, as well as a stage show with fire and burning guitar, on platform shoes & in tights on stage… here the audience experience a true to original KISS concert of the Kassel band.

Saturday 10 June 2023

Saturday invites all the young and young at heart to a lively Roch “n “Roll evening. It starts with the local Johnny Cash Tribute Band around Christian Bergmann, followed by the top rock “n “roll band Boppin’ B. Rumors are that RV park owner Kai Thurau and hr presenter Friso Richter are planning one or the other guest appearance.

Christian Bergmann and the North Hesse 3

Christian Bergmann and the North Hesse Three – a Johnny Cash cover band from Schwalmstadt North Hesse, which pays tribute to the legend with their music. However, the fact that they do not want to embody a simple copy of the artist, but live their very own charm and personality on stage, the musicians regularly show at events far beyond the borders of the region.

Boppin’ B

Bang! Bang! Bang! Boppin’ B is back in town! And when Germany’s most successful rock’n’roll quintet gets going, all the controls are set to eleven – sweat, good humor and smiling faces in front of and on stage included. The musical five-piece may have eaten up quite a bit of dust on the streets of Europe in the years since the band was founded in 1985, but the evening’s performance always repays all efforts. The well-seated in the band bus has then stored some energy reserves, which must be dissipated in a wild, wacky performance: The double bass is played from all directions and climbed just as much as the amplifiers, the drums or even one or the other band member.

No wonder that every show seems fresh and unspent, because for Boppin’ B only one thing is important: that at the end of the evening everyone in front of and on stage had a good time together. In short: have fun and don’t take everything too seriously – least of all themselves, which is also proven by the title of the album to be released in early 2020: “We Don’t Care”.

One more note on my own behalf:

Why 25€ entrance fee is not cheaper? Yes we can, if we don’t pay the artists a reasonable fee. After the deprived time, however, it is a matter of the heart for us not to do this, so please understand the “small” cultural levy.

To top it off, all young people under the age of 18 pay only half price at the box office, sponsored by Kulturverein Sägewerk e.V.
