The oldest train station in Saarland celebrated its 170th anniversary in 2019. Birthday. It served as a border and transition station from Bavaria to Prussia and formed the terminus on Bavarian territory, the so-called Ludwig Railway. Due to its historical importance, the city of Bexbach applied for a grant in 2016, which should make the renovation of the station building possible, taking into account the monument protection. This was the starting shot for the conversion of the Bexbacher Bahnhof to the Kulturbahnhof. Because from now on the building will be equipped with cultural events and offer the citizens a varied program.
