Where the river Elbe ends,
we start the motorhome's engine and enjoy the journey from Cuxhaven to Hamburg where you can easily reach the campsite at the „Moorwerder Hauptdeich“ at the junction of the „Norderelbe“. Through the picturesque Lower Saxon „Elbtalaue“ the journey continues to the cozy town „Lenzen“ at the lake „Rudower See“ in Brandenburg.
Where the river Elbe once was a „border river“,
we now enjoy nature and visit town Wittenberge on our way.
Every year the festival „Elblandfestspiele“ are celebrated here in summer.
After this great pleasure we leave the Elbe valley for a short time and enjoy the natural park of West Haveland near Rathenow. The campsite „Buntspecht“ in Ferchesar is an ideal starting point for excursions into nature. Back to river Elbe you can see the „Hundertwasserhaus“ in the country capital Magdeburg.
The next day the journey continues with a visit to the Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Follow the Porzellanstadt Meissen and, of course, the so-called „Elbflorenz Dresden“. After the „Semperoper“ and the „Frauenkirche“, you follow the Elbtal into the „Elbsandsteingebirge“. Below the fortress Königstein and not far from the famous Bastei, the camping park and campsite for motohomes in „Struppen“ invites you to the last overnight stay on this route.
